UPDATE Ingham County Parks and Activities Status

Park Updates:  Ingham County Parks are open for regular hours from 8am to 1/2 hour after sunset (except Bunker Road Landing is temporarily closed as noted below). Please enjoy but continue to take precautions and use proper social distancing. Click HERE to check the status of a certain activity.

Winter Sports:
At this point, staff has started to prepare the Hawk Island snow tubing hill for the winter season in the hopes that we will be able to open in some capacity. We are closely monitoring the new and ever changing restrictions on activities and how they will impact the Hawk Island tubing hill and other winter sports we offer. As changes are made to our operations we will be updating both our website and social media. Historically, we have been able to open the Hawk Island snow tubing hill approximately January 1, weather dependent. Please check back for updates HERE or call 517-676-2233 for more information on the status of winter sports activities.

Burchfield Park under construction: the Ingham County Parks Department was awarded a grant by the DNR to make ADA improvements to Burchfield Park. Starting September 8, 2020 the beach and modern restrooms will be closed during construction. The vault toilet will be open near the Overlook Shelter during construction. The road will be fenced off at the Winter Sports Building parking lot going down to the Woodsong Shelter parking/beach area. All picnic shelters are unavailable for use except the Overlook Shelter and Pine Knoll Shelter; to make a shelter reservation, please call 517-676-2233. Please avoid construction areas. Please be aware that there is back and forth traffic with construction equipment on the road. The Renegades Trail disc golf course and Rivers Edge disc golf course are open.

Bunker Road Landing is closed from November 9, 2020 until spring 2021 (dependant on flooding).

Shelter rentals will be permitted so long as the gathering does not exceed 100 people and people not part of the same household maintain six feet of distance from one another.

The main Ingham County Parks administrative office and passport processing services in Mason are closed until further notice.  Administrative staff are working remotely from 8am-4:30pm Monday - Friday with a closure for lunch from 12-1pm and on holidays. Please call 517-676-2233 for inquiries.

The health and safety of our park patrons and staff is of the upmost importance. We appreciate your understanding as we try to navigate these uncertain times, and we look forward to seeing you soon. Please remember to follow the attached guidelines. Thank you for your understanding.
