Burchfield Park In-Park Rentals:
In-park rentals allow persons to rent canoes and kayaks and start right at Burchfield Park and paddle upstream on the Grand River and then turn around and paddle downstream back to where you started at Burchfield Park. Effective June 13th until September 7th, in park canoe/kayak upstream rentals will be available on weekends only, from 9am-5pm on a walk up basis for $6 per hour. All boats are required to be back to the Burchfield Landing by 6pm, any later incurs the late fee of $22 per watercraft. All weekday rentals are CLOSED.
Hawk Island In-Park Rentals:
New for 2020: effective June 13th in-park rentals will be available at Hawk Island in the pond. There will be 5 single kayaks and 3 canoes available to rent on weekends from 12-7pm on a walk up basis for $6 per hour. All boats must be returned to the boat rental by 8pm.
Downstream Trips on the Grand River:
Effective June 13th until September 7th, downstream trips from McNamara Landing and Bunker Road Landing will be by reservation only on a limited schedule. Reservations must be made no later than 3pm on the Friday prior to the weekend trip - please call 517-676-2233 for trip times and to make a reservation. Please note for downstream trips, no transportation will be provided - guests will meet at the landing where their trip begins and are responsible for arranging transportation back to their cars from Burchfield Park. All boats are required to be back to the Burchfield Landing by 6pm, any later incurs the late fee of $22 per watercraft. Walk up rentals for downstream trips are not available. All weekday rentals are CLOSED.
McNamara Landing Trip: $13 per boat
Bunker Road Landing Trip: $19 per boat
100% pre-payment in full is required at the time of reservation with a Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. Refunds will be made only if it is raining at the reservation starting time, or if the reservation is canceled at least 10 days in advance.
- Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied in the same boat by an adult 18 years or older.
- Children 14 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult, 18 years or older, in the same boat or in an adjacent boat.
- It is illegal to operate a watercraft while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This law includes canoes and kayaks. Boaters may be subject to tickets or arrest.
- Abandonment Recovery Fee – $43.
- Late Fee (Arriving 1/2 hour or later after boathouse closing) $22.
Weight Capacity: 450 lbs canoe.
Canoe capacity is 3 (unless one of the passengers is age 2 or less then the capacity is 4).
Weight Capacity: 325 lbs single kayak.
Weight Capacity: 350 lbs double kayak.
